B2B marketing is dated and ineffective. Marketers are overstretched, trying to catch up to quickly-evolving modern methods. Most of the help available offers productized solutions focused on justifying a retainer rather than driving business success.
We guide each client toward digital marketing success through modern websites, tools, and initiatives that address their unique needs, with great communication and powerful processes.
Our customers grow in their businesses and their careers — by better supporting sales and increasing their own knowledge and experience.
By connecting thoughtful modern marketing with innovative companies, we help propel the world forward.
Exceed the Client’s Goals

The Marketing Coordinator is the core driver of marketing efforts for our own agency. The role includes proactively executing the marketing plan, managing inbound and ABM-focused initiatives, monitoring performance and identifying areas of opportunity, and working closely with sales and leadership to ensure sales and marketing alignment.
This role is of a client-facing account project manager, who serves as the strategist and primary point of contact for your group of existing client accounts. You’ll balance keeping projects and retainers exceeding clients’ goals, nurturing and growing client relationships, managing the team to deliver on time and on budget, and protecting Windmill’s interests with sane project schedules and healthy profitability.
We’re seeking an experienced designer to join our marketing team. The focus of this role is on UX and visual design for B2B websites, including sitemaps and wireframes, content strategy and the overall visual design of the entire website. While this is not a development position, you should have an understanding of how websites are developed (or be willing to learn from our developers), and know how to edit content within a WordPress website.
The Digital Marketing SEO Specialist is responsible for hands-on execution of digital marketing-related activities, projects and initiatives focused on SEO (On-site, Technical and Content). Some PPC and Paid Social may be part of the role, depending on the skills of the applicant.
We’re looking for a mid- to senior-level aspiring hands-on leader who sets and implements digital marketing strategies with a multi-functional team, does hands-on work, and builds the digital team, ensuring Windmill delivers the best possible results and customer experience for its clients and customers.
This position is ideal for someone with a proficiency and interest in front-end web development, with a background and understanding in general web development and PHP. This is not a design position, but you should have a sensitivity to design details, aesthetics, and UX.
If you have design skills and also love to use CMS systems and front-end code, building what you design in WordPress, Shopify, or similar CMS platforms, this hybrid role may be a great fit for you.
Culture & Benefits
We’re a small team of friendly, engaged A-players who care about each other. Our work environment is high on responsibility, low on politics. We value work-life balance, and have a no-jerks policy. Compensation packages include healthcare, disability insurance, paid vacation/holidays (including your birthday off), 401k matching, a professional development/education budget, and bonus potential. Since the 2020 pandemic, we’ve converted from working in a NE Minneapolis office to becoming a fully remote, distributed team, with employees in multiple states, so WFH (working from home) and flexible schedules are part of the package. We’ve started a practice of twice-yearly in-person retreats, and have built in rituals and pieces of our culture that foster getting to know one another and working well together while working remotely, from anywhere.
If the key characteristics and info above sounds like you, we’d love to have you join us on our mission — you’ll like it here.
I really can't express how happy I am that I landed here, for so many reasons and I know I said it a few times but I continually think of the expression "If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room." I don't say that with bravado, but I finally feel like I've found a "room" full of incredibly talented, smart and compassionate individuals. I love how everyone is put in the best possible position to succeed and then supported in that success as well. It is truly an incredible group of individuals that has lived up to and exceeded any and all expectations that I had. Throw in the fact that everyone is so talented and I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this group. The other part I have fallen in love with is the lack of politics and drama... It's been so refreshing to come to meetings and focus on the work and positive things, rather than inter-office politics at the expense of the work.
