About The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Client Solutions Manager to join our team. This role is integral to our sales and marketing efforts, focusing on closing inbound sales, ensuring account growth and MRR retention, and providing strategic sales-informed guidance to Windmill’s own marketing initiatives. You’ll focus on converting, keeping, and growing great clients by closely working with the APM team, acting as a resource for MRR clients, and screening new prospective clients to ensure that we meet our sales goals with the best group of clients that we can.

This is a remote/WFH position, on a fully virtual team.

You are an experienced professional with a strong background in digital marketing and websites, with a proven track record in sales and client services within marketing agencies. Your deep knowledge of digital marketing and strategic mindset allows you to drive business growth and foster strong client relationships. Your ability to balance short-term actions with long-term goals, coupled with your keen financial acumen, makes you a valuable asset to our team. You are a proactive problem solver who can see opportunities where others see challenges and are adept at creating and executing strategies that drive results.

  • Digital Marketing Expertise: You possess a deep understanding of B2B marketing. You understand the importance of lead quality vs. quantity, particularly within the technical and industrial landscape. You can see and recommend solutions to customer challenges succinctly and effectively.
  • Communication Skills: You excel at both verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain complex marketing concepts to clients with a variety of levels of knowledge. You can easily and comfortably facilitate client meetings, negotiate effectively, and influence project stakeholders to create win-win solutions.

You will:

  • Take ownership of the inbound sales process, from initial screening to closing deals (independently and in collaboration with the company President and key SMEs), ensuring an efficient and successful sales journey for prospective clients.
  • Foster strong client relationships, acting as an escalation point for retainer accounts, identifying opportunities for upselling, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Recognize and capitalize on opportunities to grow accounts, increase monthly recurring revenue (MRR), and ensure client retention through strategic account management.
  • Create compelling sales presentations, scopes of work, and proposals in collaboration with SMEs and APMs, tailored to meet client needs and close deals.
  • Manage the onboarding of new clients, ensuring a seamless transition and setting the stage for a successful and long-term partnership.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline account management and sales operations, enhancing overall efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Influence marketing efforts using insights from the sales pipeline, creating and executing plans to translate marketing and sales goals into effective marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • Perform market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges, using this information to inform marketing strategies and sales approaches.
  • Work closely with the Director of Project Management and other team members to ensure alignment and coordination in account management and sales efforts.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales, client retention, and account growth, using data to drive continuous improvement and achieve business objectives.
  • Meet KPIs for MRR account retention, MRR account growth, conversion from website project to MRR, and monthly sales quota.
  • KPIs will be set on a yearly basis, based on sales and growth goals, and in collaboration with the person in this position.

Your Skills and Background:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in a B2B setting, with a strong understanding of the technical and industrial sectors.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in client services, sales, and account management within a digital marketing agency.
  • Proven ability to grow accounts and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing strategies and sales processes.
  • Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms.

Key Accountabilities:
